Episode 254 - The Apocalyptic Battle, chapters 13-14

Episode 254: The Apocalyptic Battle, chapters 13-14

Hi folks, God here. Just wanted to say that this is one of those modern interpretative things and, as such, not strictly canon.

After blowing up the entire universe, you'd think that there couldn't be too much left to write fanfic about. However, because this is The Apocalyptic Battle, there is no escape and only more of the hurt as we see Tom cope with the after-effects of his battle to determine the fate of all creation. And by that, we mean that Tom drinks beer and cooks breakfast while verbally abusing his comrades who stood by him during this darkest of hours. However, it's not all fun and games as Tom also needs to deal with the troublesome issue of the woman he supposedly loves marrying somebody else. How will he resolve this dilemma? Violently, of course!

    1. There comes a time in any work of fiction where the authour must decide if they've gone as far as they can with it and then move on. This fic passed that a long time ago, but just kept on doing what it was doing.

    2. I think we can all agree that line was crossed somewhere around the second 'Matt' death.

  2. As reprehensible as this part was, I liked it better than the previous ones because at least it wasn't so mind-numbingly boring.

    1. I think that's one of the things which makes this fic so horrible. You have two entire chapters of Tom being a self-important arse, and yet it's a welcome change.

Will that trend continue? Well, there is still one more part to go...

  3. Yeah, I mean at least it wasn't the same fight scene copy-pasted over and over times with a name find/replace like it seems everything past the first couple chapters was up to this point.

Still though, you really have to wonder just where Tom's seeming complete and utter lack of concern for the consequences of his actions comes from. Is it because he's secure in the knowledge that he is this world's god and lesser men can do naught but quake and tremble before him? Or is it simply because he's incapable of understanding that attempted murder tends to have ramifications far beyond "Losing your job"?

Is there a betting queue on what the last chapter's horror will be? I'm guessing Z-guy and Captain F make some faustian pact to take revenge on Tom.

    1. We get an explanation and justification for Tom's actions in the final part (now in progress). Trust me, you won't like it
